Bekka Herdy (Class of 2017) received the Critics Choice Tech Award at the 2016 Florida District V Thespian Festival competition.  Bekka earned the award for her costume designs for the musical Godspell.

The Critics Choice is awarded to one student and is chosen by the panel of thespian judges as their pick for the “best of the best.”  There were over 100 other students representing different schools in District V who also submitted their artistic work to vie for this particular award, in categories including Costume Construction, Publicity Design, and Scene/Sound Design.

The award allows Bekka to move on to the State Thespian Festival next spring, where she will compete against students from throughout the state of Florida. Her work will be showcased in a video to be included in the Opening Ceremony at the State Thespian Festival, for the 7000 students in attendance to view.

Bekka also received Best In Show for her Costume Design presentation, and received a Superior rating for her Costume Design, along with a Superior as part of the tech crew for the One Act.

Congratulations, Bekka!
