As we have said over and over again, nothing about 2020 has been what we thought. Fall is usually a time when we gather together and attend carnivals, festivals, and events with all of our friends and neighbors. We’ll probably get to savor pumpkin spice lattes and burn our favorite fall scented candles this year, but our typical October events will look different.

The great news is that we can still attend some amazing fall activities in a safe and healthy way! First Baptist Orlando and Horizon West Church have extended a special invitation to all of our families to attend their fun fall events, and we have listed some other ideas for safely celebrating this special season below as well.

First Baptist Orlando’s Fall Pep Rally
October 30, 2020, 4:30pm to 7:30pm

We are excited to invite your family to our Fall Pep Rally! This exciting event is Friday, October 30th from 4:30pm-7:30pm at First Orlando’s John Young Campus! Our Drive-Thru route will be fun for the whole family, with special giveaways, lots of candy, games, music, and more! Don’t forget to invite your friends! You can RSVP to join the FUN here: RSVP for the Fall Pep Rally. We would also love to see your family join in the fall fun and decorate your car for this event! Horizon West Church Fall Street Party
October 17, 2020, 5:00pm

You and your family are invited to join us for a fun evening of Food Trucks, Music, Games, and a kid-friendly Dance Party with a live DJ! We are taking all necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of all who participate. All of our volunteers will be wearing masks and this outdoor event is safely spread out and socially distanced. We will have a custodial crew cleaning throughout the event, and all of our activities are either touchless, or we have gloves at some stations that attendees will be required to use (for ie, pumpkin painting section). We hope to see you there! https://horizonwestchurch.com/event/fall-street-party/

In addition to the event being hosted by First Baptist Orlando and Horizon West Church, families can get outside and go on a nature hike or visit an outdoor socially distanced pumpkin patch. There are still a variety of ways for families to spend time with one another during this fall season, and we want to see how you are celebrating. We invite you to become part of TFA’s story on our social media platforms! Send your photos and information to Casey Vaughn at CaseyVaughn@thefirstacademy.org today!
