With the new year flying by, The First Academy’s Fine Arts Department has been busy and is off to a great start!

The Marching Royals returned home from a wonderful time at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis. They brought home First in the 1A Category and 2nd Place in the Overall Competition. They also received multiple accolades and awards including Best Overall Drum Major, Best Music, Best Marching, Best General Effect, and Best Color Guard. Save the date for their Spring Band Concert, On Broadway, April 1st at The Garden Theater.

Over Christmas Break, some of the Visual Art AP students attended the annual “Night of Fire” interactive experience at Crealde’ Art Studio in Winter Park! They had hands-on experience with a raku kiln and other unique art techniques! They had a blast preparing for their own Raku Firing “Day of Fire” which will be happening February 22. AP 3D Art students will be hosting a Raku firing, and AP 2D Art students will be ‘Painting the TFA Sidewalk’! Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks!

Jackson Englund represented TFA at the FMEA All-State Choir Competition. After only 2 days of rehearsal, Jackson, along with other students from the state of Florida, put on a concert of advanced choral material and did amazing! Great job Jackson!

The printing presses are firing up! Legacy Staff Yearbook students have been working hard to make this a “Wonderfully Made” yearbook. Please join us in praying for our Fine Arts students this semester as they continue to attend Competitions, prepare for Concerts, and create some amazing artwork. Pray that they will use their talents to honor and glorify Christ and that they will do an amazing job creating for our Creator!
