What a Grade Level did you start at The First Academy?

5th grade

What were the reasons you or your Parents chose The First Academy?

My parents chose TFA because they wanted me to go to a private school that prepared me well for college and stimulated my spiritual growth.

Are you involved in extracurricular activities? If so, what are they and have you received awards in these activities? (These can be affiliated with TFA or outside of school)

I have performed in 20 musical theater productions, both at TFA and in other community theaters around Orlando. I have received several Excellent and Superior ratings at the annual District 5 Thespian Festival. I also participate in the choir at TFA and have had the honor to perform twice in Disney’s Candlelight Processional.

Which colleges have you applied to and which ones have you been accepted to thus far?

I have been accepted to Wake Forest, UF, Auburn, Clemson, Furman, Alabama, Lipscomb, FSU, and am planning on attending Samford University in the fall.

What do you plan to study in college and what are your long-term career goals?

I am planning on majoring in psychology with a pre-med track so that I can one day become a pediatrician.

Have you received any college scholarships? If so, which ones? (Or, which ones are you currently nominated for)

I have received several scholarships, such as Bright Futures, but the one that I am most proud to have received is the Presidential Scholarship from Samford. It is a true honor to have been selected to receive this scholarship.

Who are some of your favorite TFA teachers, and why? These can be K4-12.

Oh goodness, this is the hardest question because the teachers are truly the best part about TFA. I have had the honor of being mentored by amazing people like Mr. Adams, Dr. T, Mrs. McDubs, Mrs. Headley, Mr. Harvey, Mrs. De, Mrs. Crawford, Mrs. Oswald, and Mrs. Morabito (among many many others). I look up to these mentors immensely, and my time with them has shaped my character and the trajectory of my life.

In one sentence, what did being a student at The First Academy mean to you?

Being a TFA Royal means loving others humbly, excelling in academics, athletics, or fine arts to give glory to the Lord, and preparing yourself to change the world for Christ.

How has TFA made a difference in, or impacted your life?

TFA has made a difference in my life by introducing me to people who encourage me daily to live out the verse Micah 6:8.

Do you feel that The First Academy has prepared you for life after graduation?

I think TFA has helped me prepare for college by giving me a glimpse of how I want my collegiate experience to be. I chose Samford because I appreciate how intentional the teachers at TFA are and I want to be surrounded by professors at college who will mentor and encourage me. I also knew that I wanted to go to a Christian college because of my experience at TFA.
