At The First Academy, we are always looking for qualified substitute teachers who can teach and guide our students when faculty members have to be out of the classroom for planned personal days or in unforeseen circumstances. We call in substitutes whenever full-time teachers get sick, travel, or take maternity leave. While a substitute may not know what subject or grade level they’ll be teaching on any given day, they will always have the opportunity to bring a new perspective and fresh energy to the students they meet.

We value good substitute teachers because they preserve classroom continuity so that learning continues uninterrupted. It is possible for a substitute teacher to make a difference in a young person’s life, even in just a day. Seeing students be inspired by what a substitute can bring to the classroom can be an amazing benefit, and that is also why all of our teachers and substitute teachers must embody the Seven Characteristics of a Living Curriculum Influencer.

The Seven Characteristics of a Living Curriculum Influencer are:

  1. Christ Follower
  2. Prayer Warrior
  3. Servant Leader
  4. Relationship Builder
  5. Faithful Encourager
  6. Grateful Communicator
  7. Engaging Teacher
