At what grade level did you start at The First Academy?

I began in the 7th grade.

What were the reasons you or your parents chose The First Academy?

The First Academy offered a higher level of education, as well as a strong Christian environment.

Are you involved in extracurricular activities? If so, what are they and have you received awards in these activities? (These can be affiliated with TFA or outside of school)

I have been involved with the Comfort Club, STEM Club, FCA, and Wounded Warrior. I have been in House leadership for two years, and am currently serving as a Grade Representative. I have been on the Varsity Lacrosse team for three years. I am the Vice President of National Honor Society as well.

Which colleges have you applied to and which ones have you be accepted to thus far? (Please include if you have made a decision to attend a certain college next year)

I applied to 11 colleges and I was accepted by 10 of them. Some of them were UF, NC State, Purdue, Virginia Tech, and Clemson. I will be attending Clemson this fall! Go Tigers!

What do you plan to study in college and what are your long-term career goals?

I plan to study Industrial Engineering as well as Business in college. I hope to be able to help run a major business, making it more efficient, productive, and cost effective. I haven’t decided on what field I wish to go into.

Have you received any college scholarships? If so, which ones? (Or, which ones are you currently nominated for)

I have qualified for the highest level of Bright Futures.

Who is/are your favorite TFA teacher(s), and why? (Teachers can be K4-12)

Some of my favorite teachers are Mr. Kavanagh, Mr.Harvey, Mr. Adams, Ms. de la Fe, and Mrs. Ruquejo. Mr. Kavanagh has been an excellent teacher and mentor to me and my friends; we have a Bible study with him on Tuesdays that I always look forward to. Mr. Adams and Mrs. Ruquejo have stirred a love for science and a love for learning in me thanks to their teaching style. My love for the Lord has grown thanks to Mr. Harvey and Ms. de la Fe, thanks to the passion they have for the school and for their students. The teachers at TFA are truly amazing, every single one of them!

How has TFA made a difference in, or impacted your life?

I have grown stronger in my faith and have learned what it means to truly be a Christian. I have become a better man thanks to the amazing teachers and wonderful friends who have had such an impact on me and my life.

How do you feel that The First Academy has prepared you for life after graduation?

I feel that the rigorous teaching at TFA has challenged me enough to be prepared for college. If I can continue to work as hard as I do in high school I know I will succeed for any challenge I face later in life.

What does it mean to you to be a The First Academy alumni?

I know that I will still represent this school even after graduation, giving me a responsibility to have a positive role in my community that also reflects my faith.
