What grade level did you start at The First Academy?

Sixth

What were the reasons you or your parents chose The First Academy?

A Christian environment with smaller classes and a solid college-prep curriculum.

Are you involved in extracurricular activities? If so, what are they and have you received awards in these activities? (These can be affiliated with TFA or outside of school)

Leading worship by playing guitar in the TFA Praise Band and the First Baptist Orlando Student Ministry; TFA Jazz Band / Marching Band.

Which colleges have you applied to and which ones have you been accepted to thus far?

None yet, but I will be applying to Georgia Tech, University of Chicago, UPenn, UCF, Duke, UNC, Yale, and Columbia, amongst others.

What do you plan to study in college and what are your long-term career goals?

A Master’s degree in physics or mathematics (or a similar field) with a minor in music. Still working on deciding what career I’d like to pursue, but as long as it involves physics or mathematics, I’ll be very happy!

Have you received any college scholarships? If so, which ones? (Or, which ones are you currently nominated for)

Since I haven’t applied to any colleges yet, it’s too soon to tell, but hopefully, when I apply, some offers will arise!

Who are some of your favorite TFA teachers, and why? These can be K4-12.

It’s impossible to pick a favorite. Almost every single teacher at The First Academy has left a lasting impact on me, whether it’s fond memories of a class, a conversation or discussion about something important, or concepts they taught me, not only about academic subjects but about life.

In one sentence, what did being a student at The First Academy mean to you?

I could wake up every morning knowing I would be surrounded by my best friends and taught by some of the most Godly people I know.

How has TFA made a difference in, or impacted your life?

The Christian environment here cultivated my own faith, and I’ve formed relationships that will last years beyond my graduation.

Do you feel that The First Academy has prepared you for life after graduation?

Absolutely. I’m prepared to defend my faith in a dominantly secular world, and I’m eager to follow the path of higher education that TFA has started me on.

What is your favorite memory at TFA?

It’s impossible to pick just one! The eighth grade trip to Washington, D.C., the 2018 New York City trip, and the Senior Retreat all stand out as some of the best! At the end of the day, the best memories are the ones I got to make with the most amazing people.
