At what grade level did you start at The First Academy?

I have been going to TFA since first grade.

What were the reasons you or your parents chose The First Academy?

My parents were looking for a Christian school that would provide a great education. They felt that TFA was the best choice for our family.

Are you involved in extracurricular activities? If so, what are they and have you received awards in these activities? (These can be affiliated with TFA or outside of school)

I am the Elliot House President, Secretary of the National Spanish Honor Society, and a member of the National Honor Society. I also played three years of high school baseball.

Which colleges have you applied to and which ones have you be accepted to thus far? (Please include if you have made a decision to attend a certain college next year)

I have applied to Georgetown, Cornell, University of Florida, Wake Forest, Rollins College, and Florida State. I have been accepted to UCF. I have not made a decision on where I will attend.

What do you plan to study in college and what are your long-term career goals?

I plan to study Business and History in college and continue on to law school.

Have you received any college scholarships? If so, which ones? (Or, which ones are your currently nominated for)

I have qualified for the highest level of Bright Futures.

Who is/are your favorite TFA teacher(s), and why? (Teachers can be K4-12)

All the teachers at TFA are so great but a few have stood out to me. Mr. Harvey, Mr. Kowars, and Mr. Rossmeissl have all made my experience at TFA extremely memorable. Mr. Harvey puts a smile on everyone’s face every day with his crazy outfits and fun class. Mr. Kowars has taught me valuable life lessons throughout his class from his own life experiences. Mr. Rossmeissl created a love of history in me that could only be possible through his love for his history class.

How has TFA made a difference in, or impacted your life?

They have taught me how to be a Christian leader in the world we live in. I have made friendships with students and teachers that will last me a lifetime. They have given me an excellent education and the tools I need to succeed in college and in life.

How do you feel that The First Academy has prepared you for life after graduation?

TFA has prepared me to be a Christian leader in college. They have also taught me how to stay strong in my faith after I leave high school. I will remain grounded in my faith.

What does it mean to you to be a The First Academy alumni?

I know that I will always be able to come back to TFA after I graduate and be welcomed back by all the teachers and faculty. It’s incredible that I am able to be in a graduating class with so many great people. I can’t wait to see what the Class of 2018 does!
