The First Academy Class of 2017’s Chaundee Brown Jr. recently signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, becoming the first alumnus to play in the NBA.

From a standout player in high school to helping lead the Michigan Wolverines to the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight in 2021, Brown has proven himself on the court. In his collegiate career he averaged 8.0 points per game, 3.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 48.8 field goal % as a guard during his three seasons at Wake Forest University and senior season at Michigan.

At Michigan, he was named to the 2021 NCAA All-East Regional Team, helped lead the Wolverines to the outright Big Ten regular-season title in addition to the Elite Eight appearance.

While at The First Academy, Brown was named the Royal Athlete of the Year, Florida Gatorade Player of the Year and 4A Player of the Year. In just two years at TFA, he reached the 1,000 point milestone becoming just the 10th player to do that in Royals Basketball history. Chaundee was selected first team All-Central Florida by the Orlando Sentinel, first team All-State, and is a USA Today 1st Team All-Florida team member.

After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, Brown signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on August 10 after playing in Summer League games. We look forward to cheering Chaundee on with the Lakers!
