Thank You. Seriously.

Dear TFA Families,
If we had to make a list of the things that we are thankful for thus far for the 2019-2020 school year, the new covered walkways would certainly make that list.

I have seen the benefit of the covered walkways this year starting with the very first day of school. They have allowed us to keep student safety as a top priority without sacrificing academic instructional time. I am so thankful every day that we had the support and resources to make these possible this year.”

Jennifer Jackson, Lower School Principal

The walkways directly impact all of our students and faculty on a daily basis. Because of the generosity of so many of our current families, grandparents, and friends we are able to move from building to building on campus safely during inclement weather. Students are no longer “stranded” or stuck in buildings, losing precious academic time, because of rain or a light storm.

The addition of the walkways has also allowed us to provide lunch to students on the TFA side of our campus. We are able to serve a variety of options in the Natalie Thomas Gymnasium, keeping students securely behind our campus gates, while allowing them to move back and forth freely between the Gymnasium and the Upper & Lower School buildings safely under the walkways.

It is so nice to have the covered walkways for our K4 students for so many reasons! When walking to and from the Natalie Thomas Gym, the coverings help us to not have to put ponchos on the little ones when it’s raining – they are safe and dry under the walkways. Also, there are days when we need to meet the coaches outside for PE class. The coverings help to keep the sun from beaming down on our little Royals. We are so grateful for the walkways”.

Lori Dowling, K4 Teacher

As with other campus improvements we have made over the last several years, the financial gifts of our families were not simply given to a walkway structure, they were given to our students; our faculty. The gifts that were made provide safety, shelter, enhanced academic time, and so much more. Every building on campus is here because our families, friends, and gospel patrons gave financially and prayerfully for them to be here, impacting our students daily.

Those who have given have done so not just to see a beautiful building, although that is wonderful, but because they know that what happens inside of each building is so important. Without those committed donors, we would not be able to train the next generation of Christian leaders as we are today.

Another unexpected advantage to the covered walkways is that they provide us with a substantial amount of shade coverage, just like God covers us in his wings of protection.”

Dr. Shayne Grove, Middle & Upper School Principal

So again, we say thank you to all of those who have come before and linked arms to build future influencers, passion infusers, and men and women of integrity. And we say thank you to those who are making the commitment today to invest in students and faculty, to build covered walkways and enhance our Academic, Fine Arts, and Athletic Programs.

These generous givers embrace the teachings of Matthew 6:19-21 which says, “Do not store up for yourselves treasure on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and dust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Thank you,
