Message from Mrs. Sarah Donovan, Director of The Extended Educational Programs

Pastors give more of their hearts, souls, and time than arguably any other profession (teachers are way up there too :). In 1992 a missional movement began to uplift pastors, missionaries, and religious workers; so began Pastor Appreciation Day in October.  We now recognize October as Pastor Appreciation Month. I encourage you to take time this month to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to your pastor and their family. Whether it is a simple word of thanks or a small gift, it will surely mean so much to those who have dedicated their lives to ensuring the path is strong and bright in our walks with the Lord. TFA will be celebrating our amazing FBO pastors and staff with a shared luncheon on Monday, October 10th. We are so grateful for their unwavering support and partnership!

Green Meadows Farm (Thursday, October 20th)  All 2’s & 3’s classes will be going to Green Meadows Farm on Thursday, October 20th.  You and your child will be given a “hands-on” guided tour with more than 30 farm animals!  We will also get to go on a hay ride, ride a train, ride a pony, milk a cow and pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.  This is such a fun day, and you and your child will have lots of special memories together!

This field trip is a special time with you and your child!  It is recommended that siblings do not attend.  We will be meeting at the school at 8:30am. You are welcome to carpool with other parents, but if you do not choose to do so, you will need to meet us at Green Meadows Farm no later than 9:00am.  Please note that if you are not able to attend, we will have a class of 2’s and 3’s that will remain at the preschool with an assistant teacher for that day.

Preschool Scholastic Book Fair (Tuesday, October 25th – Thursday, October 27th)  Come support our preschool, and help us build our preschool library while helping to grow your home library as well!  Shop our book fair during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday. All of your favorite preschool – 5th-grade books will be available for purchase, and each purchase will help to benefit our preschool.  We will even have a special book signing by two of our very own preschool parents, The Copelys.  They have written an adorable children’s book about “Daring Dexter” (the family’s Yorkie dog). Join us for a chance to meet The Copelys who will have autographed copies of their book available for purchase. There will be more details to come, but please mark your calendars so that you don’t miss this fun-filled event!

Ready Set K-Prep (Thursday, November 3rd in the TFA Library @ 9:15am) Calling all 3’s Parents!!  Have you been asking yourself any of the following questions?: What are my plans for next year?  How do I apply for K Prep on the main campus? What will my child be doing in K-Prep?  Well, we have designed this special event catered to answer all of your questions about K Prep applications, entrance testing, curriculum, and more!  Come join us for a morning of Pre-K readiness and an introduction to TFA’s Kindergarten Preparatory (K4) program. You will have the opportunity to hear from TFA’s K4 teachers on what you can be doing at home to ensure your little one is ready for Pre-K and beyond. TFA will also provide you with the opportunity to tour a Kindergarten Preparatory Classroom.

Wishing you and your family a safe weekend!

Blessings!

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT:

We were so thankful to our amazing Community Helpers that came to our school.  We were blessed to have Pastor Derrick Skelton, Baseball Player Foster Griffin, Dental Hygienist Melanie Barrett, Pilot Kirk Sorenson and Police Officer Troy!  The children had such a blast and truly were blessed to have such a wonderful hands-on experience with special friends from our community!
