At The First Academy, the role of the School Board is to make viability-focused decisions for the next generation of students. We focus our work to three areas: advancing the mission, funding the vision, and securing the legacy. Allow us to take a moment to update you on these areas.
This is the fifth year of our “Leading the Way” Strategic Plan and you will find an update on the recent progress in the following pages. You can also find a copy of the original document on our website.
The First Academy’s operating budget is funded through tuition, while our capital projects are supported through generous donors. Would you to begin praying about giving to the Field House/Gymnasium campaign project with an anticipated launch in the spring of 2015? Additionally, the School Board approves our annual budget, and sets tuition rates for the upcoming year. We are pleased to report that the tuition increase is projected to be one of the lowest percentage increases in the past five years. With careful attention to costs, this year’s primary budget drivers were the following:
We now turn to the privilege of re-enrolling your children at The First Academy for another year. With the increased interest we have seen from prospective families, we expect classes to fill quickly. Please re-enroll during the time set aside for returning families so that your family’s place at The First Academy is secure for the 2015-2016 school year. Re-enrollment for all current students begins the second week back from Christmas Break.
On behalf of the entire School Board, we wish your family abundant blessings in the coming year and look forward to celebrating our school’s many successes with you in the months and years to come. Please join us in spreading the word about the opportunity to enroll for the 2016-2017 school year. Admissions Open House events will be held on Sunday, January 11 and Sunday, February 8. We will be there and we invite you and your friends to join us.
