You’ll find a brief overview of what we offer below.
Exceptional Academics
The First Academy’s small class sizes means teachers are able to identify individual student strengths. High school at The First Academy means a more rigorous course load in preparation for the demands of college. Core subjects include Christian Studies, English, math, science, and social studies. Students can choose from 20+ Advanced Placement (AP) courses across all core subjects, as well as fine arts and world languages. Dual and Concurrent enrollment courses give students the opportunity to get a head start on college. 100% of The First Academy seniors graduate with 22 college credits.
Electives for Every Interest
With 30 electives to choose from and flexibility with elective scheduling every semester, students can explore subjects that interest them. Future performers can hone their craft in theatre and performing arts. Those interested in media can work on the school yearbook or take a journalism course. Multilingual masters can study Mandarin, Latin, and Spanish. Students looking to focus on health and wellness can take weightlifting. No matter their hobby or interest, electives make room for new passions and achieving personal goals.
Student Leadership is Flourishing
Whether it’s mentoring a younger peer in the same committee or serving as chaplain during worship, Upper School students are encouraged to lead. TFA’s Student Leadership system places students in positions that interest them, including planning, organizing, and executing for events, clubs, and organizations.
Living Curriculum Teachers
First Academy teachers are Living Curriculum teachers — they model their Christian values inside and outside the classroom. They are more than role models and mentors for our high schoolers. They’re committed to doing God’s work, teaching God’s word, and encouraging their students to be the hands and feet of Christ as they put service before self. As Proverbs 9:9 says, “Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning,” Living Curriculum teachers purposefully create interactive environments that promote student engagement with both content and each other.
Award-Winning Arts and Championship Athletics
Fine arts are explored through courses, electives, and organizations, including visual arts, theatre, band, digital cinema, steel drums, dancing, choir, and more. The First Academy’s Fine Arts Network helps support annual productions and performances. Our Royals continue to win titles, earning 104 district titles, 39 regional titles, 67 individual state titles, and 18 team state championships! Nearly 80% of varsity teams advance to regional tournament play each year. The First Academy offers 23 interscholastic sports and is home to world-class athletic facilities, including the Payne Stewart Athletic Complex and the Cramer Family Field House.
Thriving Student Life
Students can polish their leadership skills through participation in student clubs and organizations. They can serve as chaplains, Royal Ambassadors, and Committee leaders. High achievers can join honor societies, including NHS, NAHS, NSHS, and Quill & Scroll. Clubs and organizations include Comfort Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Chapel Worship Band, Poetry Out Loud, and more. Annual events are always highly anticipated, including the Senior Retreat, Senior Ski Trip, service projects, Homecoming, and prom.

This school is a true blessing. Wishing I had taken the leap of faith to relocate when my son was in preschool! Happy to be here for his high school years! Feeling safe and happy everyday. Although the studies are exceptional and rigorous, he doesn’t break a sweat and is always smiling. This is because of the peaceful teaching style and loving ways of the entire staff. We love TFA!”
