Written by Dr. Steve Whitaker, Head of School

As we planned for the 2020-2021 school year, one of the things that was always on my mind was our great sense of community and connection as a school. We treasure being one TFA family, and with all of the new health and safety precautions, I didn’t want to lose that sense of togetherness and unity that makes our school so special.

As we reimagined “events”, meetings, and gatherings, one of the areas where we had to make adjustments was our Parent Association. We looked at ways to connect our parents to one another and to TFA while not being able to be present on campus in the same ways that we have in the past. This week, we hosted our first Virtual Parent Association Meeting.
It was such an amazing blessing to be joined virtually by over 150 of our Royal Parents for that meeting. We shared several opportunities for parents to sign-up, volunteer, and connect this school year.

The Parent Association Executive Team has been hard at work, finding new ways for parents to volunteer and connect with the school and other parents. You can find the links to sign-up and volunteer below.

I know that our PA Vice Presidents are also working to set up virtual coffee’s, gatherings, and more; so stay tuned for that information from your divisions.

TFA parents can visit the Parent Association Webpage to view meeting dates, meeting agendas, and connect with our Parent Association Executive Team. If you missed Tuesday morning’s meeting, you can view the recording online HERE.

Don’t forget, for both new and returning families, every TFA parent is a member of the Parent Association and welcome to our meetings! I hope to see you at our next virtual meeting on Tuesday, October 6th.
