Courtnee has been at The First Academy since Pre-K and is taking advantage of the diverse course offerings with The Virtual Academy in order to complete her fourth year of study in French. She hopes colleges see her perseverance in taking four years of language and becomes fluent in French for studying abroad in college. Courtnee explains The Virtual Academy has given her an opportunity she wouldn’t have otherwise had at TFA and a kind teacher who is proficient in French and is teaching her about the culture.
Courtnee is passionate about music and loves to dance, play classical piano, sing, and lead worship. As she grows up, she hopes to be led by the Spirit of God and to stay on His track for all of the blessings He has in store. Since she has a natural inclination towards music, she wants to continue using her talents to further His kingdom. Her parents love that she’s passionate about Jesus and say it shows in everything she does. Since she was a toddler she has always been artistic, but what is unique about her is how the Lord allows her to use her talents for His glory. Whether it’s school or her activities, she works hard in everything she does and her online French course is no exception. Although it is one of her most difficult classes, she enjoys the challenge and loves to learn. She hopes to gain a better understanding of the culture surrounding all the arts that she loves.

She’s an inspiration to all those who meet her and as President of the Comfort Club at TFA, she is a shining example of God’s love. Her teacher tells me “every class needs a ‘cheerleader’ so to speak, and Courtnee is one of the most encouraging students I have ever taught. She is respectful which I know comes as no surprise. She is also diligent and pursues every activity or assignment we are doing with an inquisitive mind.” Another teacher tells me Courtnee radiates the love of Jesus in every aspect of her life. From leading worship in chapel to taking a leadership role in our House system to serving her fellow students in any way needed, Courtnee is always the hands and feet of Jesus. Her joy has been demonstrated in many ways and has impacted many of her classmates and teachers. She has determination to overcome obstacles and leans on God to lead her through in all areas of her life. Courtnee also has a wonderful sense of humor and her love of dance is also a large part of her life. She is wise beyond her years and is a true representation of The First Academy mission statement.

Favorite Bible Verse: 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
College: “It must be a well-qualified music school.”
Favorite Books: “The book I read most and which helps me learn the most important things in life is the Bible. It encourages my heart greatly! I also love And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, and Thr3e by Ted Dekker.
Favorite Movie Genre: Disney Princess movies and ROM COM’s.
Motto to live by: 1 Thessalonians 5:16 and it says, “Rejoice always!”
The Virtual Academy has been blessed by the example Courtnee sets and her dedication to excellence and learning. We know she’ll be successful at anything she attempts, because she approaches life with such a Christ-like attitude and grace. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this young lady and where God leads her next!
